Prom season has arrived, and anyone who has ever attended the biggest high school dance knows how important choosing the perfect dress is, and what a process it can be!

While young women today might be opting for strapless, form-fitting gowns or sparkly, flashy minidresses, that wasn't always the case! Inspired by pop culture at the time, each prom look from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s reflects the fashion industry's infatuation with stars from that time like Twiggy and Britney Spears.

It's no doubt that prom has provided some serious statement-making style moments for blossoming fashionistas, but what's considered trendy has certainly changed!
